I was thinking that Olivia is a photographer (not paparazzi) and as Lily is an actress they have met at a photoshot? And maybe hang out after that?

that'd be super cute. she could have taken photos of lily for some spread in a magazine or something and they hit it off and fast became friends? olivia would be one of lily's favourite people to work with <3
