She'd grown to despise the attention that came with her job only continuing on because she actually enjoyed acting and she couldn't disappoint her parents. There were obviously the highlights though. Some would say money, designer dresses and glamorous parties but this was actually Lily's favorite part. Giving back made her feel useful and actually good about herself so Lily often jumped at the chance to attend charity events or donate money. While others may have been doing it for publicity, she did it for her own piece of mind.
Today had actually been on of the funnest days she'd had off set in a long time. It was a nice change from club openings and movie premiere's. Her and a few of her other cast mates had been dragged in early to the local hospital to donate a large cheque. The show had put in money and Lily and the rest of the stars had all put in too. The day had gone very well so far. They'd handed over the check to the hospitals director, smiled for the cameras and that was that. Now they'd spent the past few hours touring the building and getting to play with some of the kids in the paediatrics ward. Something about sick kids still smiling could put even the nastiest people in a good mood.
"Lily, time to have lunch with the staff" the voice of her agent filled her ears, delivering the bad news. Not that she minded handing out with doctors or nurses but she was having more fun with the kids. "Alright guys, time for me to go but thank you so much for playing with me and I'll come back to visit real soon" she promised with a big smile, cuddling the two little girls tightly before releasing them and standing back up to join the adults. Waving to the room of kids, she left and followed her agent towards the room where they were holding lunch. Withing minutes she'd been dragged into a conversation by two doctors, all talking about their work and as much as she appreciated what they did, the medical talk was confusing the hell out of her. Lucky she was an actress though so it was easy for her to just sip her drink, smile and nod as if she understood every word of what they were babbling on about.

"come this way," he said, before leading her over to the table he usually sat at. "i wouldn't want you to be lost in their conversation," he winked, before taking a bite of his sub.

[atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=border,0,true][style=width:400px;height:190px;padding-right:5px; text-align:justify;font-family:arial; font-size:9px; line-height:80%; overflow:auto;]Lily had long ago come to the realisation that her job meant she had to interact in a variety of social situations she wasn't entirely comfortable with. Being an actress meant she had to research for roles, pretend she had a clue what she was talking about and do it all gracefully and with a smile. Lucky for her she'd been doing this since she was three years old so it had all become second nature for her. Alot of other celebrities she knew had their PR team working around the clock to maintain their squeaky clean image but Lily didn't have that problem. She was literally everything the public thought she was. She didn't go out and get DUI's, she didn't have a sex tape and she wasn't a bitch to her staff. She found it so much easier to be nice and sweet which was a rarity in her business.
It didn't mean she didn't get bored though and today she found herself bored to death. She wasn't neccesarily a dumb girl but she certainly wasn't a trained doctor so the conversation was making her a little dizy and her mouth was starting to hurt from smiling so much. She suddenly heard a voice and felt someones had on her arm, her blonde head whipping around to see who had interuppted them. She recognised him instantly but before she got a chance to process what was going on, she was excusing herself with a small smile and allowing herself to be led away from the publicity stunt going on around her. It was nothing new for her, Lily was used to being lead around. Lead to premieres, to club openings, to press meetings. To be honest, she seemed to have no real control over her own life.
The young man saving her? Christian. Lily knew him though hardly well. In fact the only times she'd spoken to him she'd been out of her comfort zone in busy clubs where she felt totally out of place and ofcourse, he was hitting on her. On first appearances he was incredibly good looking but his agressive flirting and the general perception of him was a major turn off to her. Lily liked her guys to be wholesome, sweet and gentleman. In her opinion Christian was none of those things and just one of those guys that was desperate to bed as many pretty girls as he could and she'd be damned if she was one of them. This was an interesting turn of events though. "You're a doctor?" she asked with disbelief, taking a seat. She didn't mean to be rude but 'doctor' was the last thing she expected him to be. It served her right though and she kicked herself for being so quick to jump to conclusions. "Well, thanks for rescuing me anyway" she smiled politely with a tiny shrug, "I swear they were speaking a different language or something" she giggled. "I have to admitt it's kind of strange seeing you instead of drunk and flirting with any girl that walks past" she told him, being much more assertive than she was used to.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2vafwqd.jpg), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] chris had no idea how to handle a lot of people. his brother was famous, very famous in fact, and chris had no idea how he managed that. it wasn't that chris didn't like people, but most of the time people didn't like him. he was use to getting dirty looks. and he honestly didn't have the energy to make people like him. all he had to do was his job, make his money, and pay the bills each month. now, he did get along with girls. mostly because of his good looks. girls seemed to fall all over him, and he could not say that he minded that. of course the innocent girls usually didn't give him the time of day, but there was nothing he could do about that. chris was scared of commitment, so he tended to stay away from people who wanted a relationship. he just didn't feel like he could ever really love someone.
he glanced over at lily, the girl he had saved from the other doctors conversation a few moments ago. he knew that she probably had no idea what on earth they happened to be talking about but he didn't blame her. to be a doctor you had to know how to do a lot of things, and it was complicated. probably not near as complicated as her life though. the flashing lights and always having to look perfect would drive him insane. and you had to work many hours of the day, and it seemed like you didn't have time to yourself at times. he couldn't imagine life like that.
chris couldn't help but smirk when she asked him if he was a doctor. however, he couldn't blame her reaction. he definitely was not the type of guy that looked like he would be a doctor. he lived his reckless life and didn't happen to care what people thought about him, the exact opposite of most other doctors. "yeah, i am. i know i know, it's pretty hard to believe. but i really do like my job," he said. others thought that he was into the job jut for the good pay. that was a bonus, but it was not the main motive of what he liked about his job, it was merely a plus. he chuckled a bit at her comment about the languauge. "yeah, unless you're a doctor it really is a bit hard to understand," he nodded before taking another bite of his sub, and swallowed it down. he then took a drink of his juice. "ahh, but i am a fun person when i'm drunk, right? he winked.

[atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=border,0,true][style=width:400px;height:190px;padding-right:5px; text-align:justify;font-family:arial; font-size:9px; line-height:80%; overflow:auto;]Lily tried her hardest not to judge people on first appearances, she really did. Someone in her line of work knew how far from the truth some things could be so she thought everyone deserved the courtesy of representing themselves in an honest light. That wasn't exactly the case with Christian however. She'd initially met him at a club. Not the place she liked to meet members of the opposite sex. It wasn't that she was boring, she just didn't need to get drunk every night and let randoms grope her. Lils had spent her entire life surrounded by glitz and glamor so she would much rather spend her time off having dinner with friends, shopping or watching DVDs in her pajamas. On that particular night however her friends had dragged her out and yes, she'd had a good time. Christian however and been just as sleazy as every other guy she'd ever met. Sure he was much more charming and eloquent but Lily made a point of never getting involved with drunk guys at nightclubs. They all just wanted one thing.
So it was no wonder she was so surprised to see him here, working a legitimate job. Maybe she had been a little too harsh? Immediately she started to feel not just guilty but a little stupid too. "Oh, I didn't mean it like that" Lily shook her head, a little embarrassed, "Okay. I did. Sorry. It's good you like what you do though. No point in spending your life in a job you hate" she admitted with a small laugh. Lily didn't hate her actual job. Acting was all she knew and she was pretty damn good at it. It came with a huge price though and that was fame. She knew she was lucky considering millions of girls would kill to have the success she did but lately she'd been wanting to break free. She was a private person and unfortunately she couldn't have the best of both worlds anymore. "I've played a nurse before. So i can pretend I know what they're talking about but it totally goes over my head" she laughed, taking a sip of her drink, "So please just promise me you're not going to start babbling on about surgeries or iv taps or anything?" she begged with a cheeky grin.
Lily raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow at him and shook her blonde curls lightly. "Call me boring but I don't think anyone is fun when they're drunk" she told him, "I mean, you think you're having fun but to sober people, you probably look like an idiot". Every time she got drunk, she woke up feeling like an idiot. A few years ago she'd gotten way too drunk after graduating high school, made and idiot of herself and pictures had been splashed across the media. Safe to say her lesson had been learned. "You're not too bad though" she shrugged, giving him some credit, "Except you constantly hitting on me gets pretty old, pretty quick" she laughed, sipping on her drink again. "I mean seriously, there's a thousand other girls out there for you to annoy. No need to waste your time on me" she informed him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2vafwqd.jpg), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] the thing about chris was that he liked to have fun. he did not want to be tied down, and he hoped that people understood that about him. he felt as if life was meant for fun, not for being all serious and tied down. many people disagreed with him, but he was not going to change who he was to please other people. chris was quite happy with his life for the most part. there were some things that he wished he could change, such as his parents being complete jerks and making him leave the family. he still spoke to his sister and his brother, but he was done speaking to his parents forever, or until they at least apologized.
chris shook his head. "no really, it's fine. i mean, most people don't plan to see me as a doctor. i guess i've just become use to it," he stated. it was true. he had to deal with people doubting him all the time, asking him if he was really a doctor, and they wondered how he had even managed to get his degree. but chris had managed to get his degree, after hours of studying. he even turned down nights of partying to be able to study for tests, which was a big thing for him. chris never turned down a good party, so when he turned down partying, people knew that he had become serious about getting the job as a doctor. "took a long time to get this job, so yeah, i'm pretty glad i like this job, too." he nodded as he drummed his fingers along the table.
he chuckled a bit. "well, i don't have to talk about that, but i could tell you the bloody and gross experiences i have encountered while being a doctor." although it was a fun idea to him, he probably wouldn't do this anyways. he had told his sister some gross things about what had happened in the hospital, and she was totally freaked out. some girls could not handle the stories, although some guys couldn't handle them either. chris shook his head slightly. "how come i don't see you getting drunk. don't you like to party?" he asked. most people he knew were party people. except his patients, of course. "oh babe. i don't want to annoy those girls, i want to annoy you" he joked, tapping her nose slightly with his finger.

[atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=border,0,true][style=width:400px;height:190px;padding-right:5px; text-align:justify;font-family:arial; font-size:9px; line-height:80%; overflow:auto;]Growing up in the spotlight Lily should have been used to attention by now but she just wasn't. It came with the territory but she'd never grow accustomed to people always trying to take photos of her or trying to catch her out in embarrassing moments. It wasn't just the bad things that made her uncomfortable. She was constantly receiving compliments. Great movie reviews, lovely articles about her in magazines, fans on the street. While she appreciated it all, it made her even more self conscious because to be honest she didn't think she was that special. If she couldn't deal with attention from complete strangers it was only worse when it came from members of the opposite sex. As a celebrity she always felt like people put her up on a pedestal. They always saw her looking perfect on the red carpet rather than horrible when she was running out to the store for sugar or milk. She'd never been an overly flirty girl and typically just blushed and brushed it off. Usually it took some time for her to get to know a guy before she was willing to be her fun, bubbly and sexy self and she saw nothing wrong with that.
When it came to guys like Christian Lily knew one thing and that was that they were trouble. Charming, attractive and intelligent. It was triple threat that she'd learnt to avoid. They wanted one thing and she wasn't willing to give it to them. Gone were the days of nice gentlemen who romanced you. Still she'd promised herself she'd be more open to him after having judged him so harshly initially. Lily laughed at his threat to share some gorey tales. "Believe it or not but I have an iron stomach. I don't think you could tell me any disgusting stories that would get to me" she admitted with a smile, "Confession! On my nights off, I always get sucked into those medical programs. Y'know the ones where they show you operations and stuff?" she shared her secret obsession. When you were constantly the star of a television show or a movie you found most television really unrealistic so she surprisingly enjoyed reality programs more than anything.
The blonde sighed and stretched her arms for a moment. It wasn't a question she hadn't been asked before. Young, pretty, actress in New York? Everyone expected her to party like crazy but she just didn't get into it. "I don't mind it. I mean, every now and then it's fun to kick up my heels but to be honest most of the time I get dragged out to clubs or parties it's for work and they don't really let me drink too much anyway" she told him. Her agents were always making sure she remained perfect in the public eye and a drunk mess was the exact opposite of what they wanted. From her early years she'd been groomed to always remain lady like and to be honest she quite enjoyed it. "I kind of get sick of people always trying to flirt with me and the hangovers don't seem worth it. I guess I'm a little boring for my age" she shrugged. Lily was far from your average twenty-one year old. She only got drunk a few times a year and that was enough for her. Guys grabbing her, girls making bitchy comments and the spinning head ache the next morning weren't worth it. Now that she was saying it aloud she did realise she seemed a little boring. Maybe she had been forced to grow up too fast?
Christian's approach was definitely flirty and slightly aggressive in Lily's eyes. He had the confidence and the charm to pull it off and while she usually would have dismissed herself, she couldn't help but feel intrigued and very flattered. As much as a girl said she didn't like it, she couldn't help but feel a little special. "Really? Me?" she raised an eyebrow trying to distract from her blushing cheeks, "Come on. You could go pursue some party crazy girl. I'm sure you meet plenty of those" she smiled, running a hand through her hair. "Not that I'm not flattered or anything. I mean you're good looking and all but not really my type" she spoke softly.
