To say Sam was excited would simply be an understatement. She was finally being reunited with the only guy who had ever made her feel special. She tried to remember back to their days of building forts out of pillows and couch cushions and having sleepovers and eating tons of junk food together. Life was so much simpler when things were so easy at their young ages. Now, there was so much that had happened between the pair, changing them both. Sam had moved out and gotten herself out of the abusive situation with her parents, and Ryan had become a member of one of the biggest boy bands in the music industry. Sam was getting small jobs playing in pit orchestras of small theaters off Broadway, while Ryan was selling out huge arenas with his new friends.
The changes that had occurred over the years they spent apart made Sam wonder whether they would still mesh as well as they did when they were young. However, she knew Ryan would always be the Ryan she spent so much time with because he could never change. No matter what happened and how famous he got, she knew Ryan would always stay true to himself. She wasn't really sure if she was the same girl Ryan had known years before, but hoped he'd like her for who she is and possibly be attracted to her as well.
The apartment she managed to find was small to say the least. The neighborhood was somewhat dangerous, but Sam knew how to handle areas like her current one. After spending so much time evading her parents while they were drunk or hitting her, Sam knew how to hide well when it was necessary. A mattress was against the wall where two windows were built in to see the beautiful New York skyline. The mattress was covered with a purple sheet set that she took from her room from her parents' house. A black leather couch was in front of the bed along with an entertainment unit with her tv, playstation 3, and movie collection. The wall to the left of the bed had her keyboard, cello, and guitar. The opposite wall had a small kitchen area with a fridge, stove, and sink. The walls were plain white with no decoration aside from the small amount of stuff that she had in her apartment.
She fiddled with her white fluffy shirt and straightened her jeans as she waited for Ryan's arrival to her apartment. It was rather late, already 10pm, but Sam didn't care. She flicked through random channels on her television, wondering when he would shift from famous Ryan to cute little Ryan she fell in love with when she was 7 years old.
