the bakery that oakley worked at was just around the bend from the shopping center. it gave them really good business since the shopping center had such good customers. the pandemonium bakery was doing pretty good today. oakley had many meetings with newly engaged couples that wanted a wedding cake. he was the go-to guy for anything that was intricate in design but really amazing to taste. he was slowly starting to find himself again and that was something he's always wanted to do. his life had meaning now and he really wanted to continue the good strives he was achieving. maybe one day even feel worthy enough of ashleigh once again. he sighed as he dropped his head on his sketching table. he was designing a flower cake for a couple that adored lily's. it was proving a challenge since he remembered picking lily's for ashleigh one day three years ago.
oakley glanced around the bakery, he was the only one in today since it was a tuesday and business always slowed down by 5PM. all the bakers and designers had gone home and they left oakley for the last hour of closing to lock up. he lifted his head back up and walked over to his bag, it was 5PM and it was time for his daily routine of pills. he reached into a pocket of his bag and got out a case of pink and yellow tablets. he put about five altogether in his mouth and washed them down with water. most people didn't know of his worsening condition. he thought his personality disorder was under control but clearly it wasn't. john had been making appearances more frequently and he wouldn't remember days at a time of what was happening. it was like oakley disappeared for days on end and he would do things he wouldn't normally do. one time, he awoke naked in a strangers bed snuggling up to a random girl and with a massive hangover. oakley rarely drank and wouldn't sleep with anyone besides ashleigh.
he had never felt so helpless in so long. his mother practically sent him away with only a few hundred dollars and told him to get out. his father wasn't speaking to him and he had no other family that wanted him. he found refuge in new york and secured a job as an apprentice baker. since he got here he was already thought of as a fully trained designer. oakley loved his work and was really starting to feel like the pieces of his life were coming together. the only thing missing was ashleigh, the love of his life. even after two years apart oakley still loved her and still meant everything about marrying her. not a day went by that he didn't think of her, he wished he never left and she was still by his side... she was there with him through thick and thin. oakley sighed and returned to his sketching table in the back. he heard the ding of the door opening and closing in the front. he walked out of the kitchen doors to the store front to see who was here this late.
notes - yay for first threads <3 outfit - here, he also has on a black apron that only goes from his belt to the middle of his thigh. then a name tag that reads his name of course!
